Synopsis
2 x 2 tells a fateful love story that brings a couple together on two parallel routes.
Emily, a 28 year old courier, falls in love with one of her customers, Caspar, 32, to whom she weekly delivers parcels. The visits of the vivid and cheerful young woman turn the stressful life of the workaholic completely up-side-down. Even though she tries to distract him from her feelings through a cool behaviour it is obvious that it clicks between them from the first moment on.
One day, as Emily once again has to fight her way through Caspar’s protective secretary, Mrs. Bienenstock, who appears to feel like his guardian angel, Caspar takes all his courage and brings himself to ask Emily on a date. They choose to meet in a little Italian restaurant the following night.
At this point the storyline splits. Emily and Caspar will find their way to each other on two different journeys:
Emily crosses the street with her bike after her visit to Caspar. A car fastly drives down the street behind her.
While they both meet for a rather unsuccesful date in the first version, it is exactly the above car that hits Emily as she’s crossing the street in the second. She loses consciousness, gets into hospital and therefore misses the date.
A dream brings Caspar to once again question the date in the first version. He asks Emily to give him a second chance.
After waiting for days in the second version, Caspar finally finds out about Emily’s accident and they can make up for their date.
While this date is the second one in the first version, it is the first one in the second but true love is found on both ways.
Or is this all a dream in the end?
2 x 2 raises the question of „what would have happened, if“ and asks to what extend fate drives us into the right direction.
